Serene-risc Annual Workshop 2021

The 12th Serene-risc workshop was held on October 20, 2021, marking the end of the Serene-risc network funding cycle.

This last conference took place online and brought together more than 120 professionals from academia, industry, and government to exchange the latest advances and the most recent work in cybersecurity and cybercrime. The three main themes addressed in an interactive format encouraged debates between the diversity of viewpoints from experienced speakers: the state of cybersecurity, improving cybersecurity in SMEs and cybersecurity R&D in Canada. Serene-risc invited ten speakers from Canadian universities as well as professionals from the private and government sectors.

For more information, see the detailed program.

Following a video presenting all the work done during the seven years of operation of Serene-risc, it is with emotion that the scientific director, Benoît Dupont, closed this last conference. This video gathers the testimonies of 25 employees, partners and co-researchers of the network. It will soon be available on the network's YouTube channel.

The work and projects carried out within the Serene-risc network have created strong links between researchers from different disciplines and external partners. New research axes focused on the role of the human factor in cybersecurity have been identified, and a new partnership, the Human-centric cybersecurity partnership (HC2P) supported by the SSHRC, will concretize the development of these research.
