Positive results for the second SERENE-RISC biannual workshop

On October 21 and 22, the Smart Cybersecurity Network (SERENE-RISC) held its second biannual workshop at the Ottawa Convention Centre.

Nearly one hundred professionals, academics and students interested in cybersecurity had the opportunity to attend a dozen different presentations by speakers from Canada, the United States and Europe, discuss solutions to cybersecurity problems, in addition to forge new links with other attendees.

Participants discussed the collection and sharing of cybersecurity metrics, some emerging challenges, the evolution of the threat landscape and data breaches, in addition to cybersurveillance landscape and the most recent information security surveys, among other topics.

Comments and testimonials received so far are very positive. Participants were impressed by the high quality of the presenters and the many networking opportunities. Another positive result for the growth of the Network, representatives affirmed that their organizations would like to become more active members.

The next SERENE-RISC workshop will take place from April 22 to 23, 2015 in Ottawa. Details will be posted soon in the event section of this website.
